Rani Mahal — "The Queen's Palace" — opened on Mamaroneck Avenue in 2006 with an uncompromising commitment: to bring the authentic gastronomy, rich heritage, and royal warmth of Northern Indian and Mughal dining to Westchester County without shortcuts.

Nothing rushed
Our kitchen builds every dish from whole spices roasted in small batches and ground in-house. Sauces simmer undisturbed for hours to develop velvety depth, breads are slapped and blistered to order in our 900°F clay tandoor, and all meats are 100% certified Halal.

The dining room honors Mughal architectural motifs with handcrafted arches, ambient gold accents, and the celebrated celestial Apsara on our walls — creating a serene sanctuary where every meal feels like a royal banquet.
Our Namesake
The dancer on the wall
An apsara — a celestial dancer — floats in swirling cloud on the dining room wall, one arm raised, her hair streaming out past the gold rim of the frame. She has hung there since the beginning, and she is the reason the room is called a palace.
She is our mark now — the apsara medallion that greets you on a browser tab, on every receipt, and at the top of the menu. Where the painting hangs in the dining room, the logo carries her into the world.
